Design, analyze, document and visualize civil infrastructure with ease.
Civil Designer is an integrated software suite of modules for earthworks, roads, highways, stormwater, wastewater, and potable water supply which seamlessly integrates into your BIM workflow.
Building Information Modeling
Building Information Modeling is a process used to create and manage intelligent 3D models of buildings and infrastructure. BIM processes improve workflow efficiency.
Open BIM
BIM models go beyond geometry and contain data about the components, materials, and functionalities associated with buildings and infrastructure assets. Effective BIM collaboration processes rely therefore on the adoption of digitization standards. 'Open BIM' is an initiative of several leading software vendors using the open buildingSMART data model to build these standards, so that stakeholders can share data with any BIM compatible software.Open BIM promotes interoperability and fosters a world of non-siloed software tools, enabling effective collaboration not only across projects, but throughout the entire lifespan of building and infrastructure assets.
Civil Designer and BIM
If your project includes civil infrastructure, you will save time and money by working with a complete design model in Civil Designer and then collaborating with other stakeholders via your Open BIM Common Data Environment when you need to do so.Civil Designer supports Industry Foundation Class (IFC) 4.3 and gives you control over the entities that you want to include in your IFC output. This means that you can collaborate efficiently and manage a coordinated model in your common data environment while keeping it uncluttered.
Our Clients Say
"Working closely with clients, architects, structural, electrical, and wet services engineers, it is important that I can share my infrastructure design model. My Civil Designer model gets exported as IFC files so that we can verify the design with the buildings, levels and infrastructure as they will be located on site. Services designed in Civil Designer can be included in later phases using Navisworks for example."- Pedri De Lang, Civil Engineer, Zutari Consulting Engineers.
"We used Civil Designer to design of a comprehensive model representing the groundworks and civil infrastructure services for the stands as well as the connecting roads and access services. We were able to view the pipe infrastructure information, as exported from Civil Designer in IFC format, in a standard BIM viewer. This made it straightforward to collaborate and exchange sub-surface infrastructure data for design verification purposes."
